John McCartney es un Hidrogeólogo y Especialista en Gestión de aguas mineras. Tiene una Licenciatura (BSc.) en Geología y Química, un Diploma de postgrado en Ingeniería Geológica y un Magíster (MSc.) en Hidrogeología y Gestión de Aguas Subterráneas. Con 30 años de experiencia profesional ha estado involucrado en múltiples estudios mineros y en todos las etapas de desarrollo de proyectos. John tiene una experiencia considerable en investigaciones hidrológicas e hidrogeológicas y ha manejado la implementación y optimización de diferentes medidas de control del agua en minas, la implementación y operación de sistemas de desagüe, el desarrollo de suministros de agua y la ejecución de evaluaciones de impacto ambiental para operaciones mineras tanto a cielo abierto como subterráneas.
John fue recientemente Vicepresidente de Gestión del Agua para Barrick Gold Corporation, brindando apoyo a las propiedades de Barrick en todo el mundo y fue responsable del diseño e implementación de una estrategia corporativa de gestión del agua.
John también ha participado en diversos procesos de due diligence, realiza regularmente revisiones de experto y es un auditor experimentado.
